Nimona (2023) + text posts
Nimona was amazing 🩷 I think trans kids should be allowed to kill whoever wrongs them 😌
nimona is actually so crazy like what if i cancelled the prime minister of a kingdom that’s built on transphobic lies on youtube from my evil lair
The way Nimona goes to Bal because hes “a bad guy” i.e another queer person, and the way he does but doesnt accept her in the beginning, even going so far as to say “im more accepting than most” but still rejects her when she becomes too much for him. It really highlights how trans people have to fight to be accepted in our own community, has cis queer people still look down on us. They will preach being accepting because theyre queer, until we dont fit into the narrow concept of what being trans is.
why is no one shitposting about this face nimona makes
the cannon being a risk of killing most of the kingdom in an attempt to kill the one person who is different as a reference of how the anti trans/queer laws also deeply affect cis/straight people god this movie makes me so insane
one of my favorite parts of nimona is that she never explains her backstory to ballister. the audience sees all of it, but nimona is never put in the position of having to beg for ballister’s trust back by baring all of her past and her reasons.
in fact, bal is seen as in the wrong for failing to hold up the truths of who she is in the present over whatever her past was rumored to be.
just. what a good choice for a movie that’s a trans allegory, but also in general as a commentary on people growing and changing.
